Is the world ready for self driving cars?
Although
self driving cars are being made I don't think the technology is
advanced enough to risk the lives of everybody on the road. The cars
that you can buy today are not fully self driving.
In todays cars you can not watch a movie or go to sleep. Also you still
need to have your hands on the wheel and be paying attention.
The road conditions
are not great in most places. The Paint on the road is faded which
makes it hard for the car to see. On todays self driving cars when
something fails there is still a person behind the wheel controlling the
car. Also are the cars capable of seeing animals in the road or little
kids? I think that the cars might not see something and will end up
killing animals, a human being, or get in a crash with another object. Self driving cars are cool but they are still a couple years away.
